Oily skin happens when the sebaceous glands in the skin. produce and release too much of extra sebum which then, appears on the skin. Sebum is the oily and waxy substance which is released by the sebaceous glands. It protects and hydrates the skin to keep it healthy.

However, when too much of extra oil is released, it makes the skin oily, eventually leading to clogged pores which often cause acne.

People with oily skin tend to have larger pores and a shiny, thicker feeling complexion. Your skin produces more than enough oil, so hydration isn’t your issue. Rather, blackheads and pimples are a common problem with this skin type.

How to make out whether skin is oily or not?

Blot your face with a tissue to absorb the extra oils. If oil on the face still stays behind, then you probably do have an oily skin.

Check whether the pore size of the skin are larger than normal, viz. pores are distinctly visible on a close look.

Cleansing the face often and blot out extra oil and sebum.

Dull-Skin

Avoiding heavy creams, oils or emollients to minimize the appearance of oil on the face.

Non-Greasy-2

Look for oil-free / products with minimum oils viz. creams, lotion, gel in your face care routine

Do not inadvertently add extra oils on the face
